Global Achievements. Global Leaderboards. I've been using custom hitsounds and killsounds since killsounds were added. They worked perfectly. I tried to change the hitsound and killsound, and they didn't work. All I heard was an "EERRR" like the sound your stomach makes after eating too much kind of a satisfying hitsound in itself, admittedly.
Then I deleted the customsounds folder, and started again. Now the hitsound works fine, but I can't hear the killsound. If anyone knows why this may be, that would be great. Showing 1 - 15 of 16 comments.

I'm interested in custom kill sounds. There was an extra option added in advanced options called: "Play a last hit sound when one of your attacks kills an enemy" It is default off. Turn it on and the killsound should work again. Erika View Profile View Posts. Originally posted by StinkyWinky :. Noivern View Profile View Posts.

I didn't like the effect it had, so I got rid of those options by launching the game in '-autoconfig'.
Now, even if hitsounds are enabled, I won't get any noises at all, and when I use the 'play hitsound. I removed the '-autoconfig' launch command before I started it a second time Things I have already tried: -restarting steam -restarting my computer -restarting TF2 -renaming the hitsound. Ok, I'll try that and see what happens. That didn't work, I still get the message. Try moving that hitsound file completely out of the ui folder. It still might be trying to read that file even with no file extension. Originally posted by Quick! SaveTheChildren :. Originally posted by Comrade Sprinkles :. Originally posted by bimblor :. Closure scares rocked us pretty hard, but the community has helped keep the site going with generous donations to keep us afloat. Thank you so much to everybody who has supported the site over the last few weeks, it's been very much appreciated.
Let's go over what's changed: Overall site layout The site is a lot tighter and modern looking than before. Everything just works a little better. You'll get Private Message notifications on the top bar next to your name, for example. I think it may take a little while to get used too but I personally think it's a way better change.
I'm very happy with how it's come along. You'll be defaulted to the Light Theme, but you can change to the Dark Theme by going into your Account Settings and choosing the Theme you'd like to use. We'll also be adding new exclusive Themes for Donators at some point in the future! TF now has a somewhat working Search Function. I know it works because I tested it by typing "pootis" into the search bar on the Hitsounds Directory and it showed me at least 3 different pootis hitsounds.
It's not perfect, but I'm sure people will be happy with it nonetheless. Guides Revamped Guides have now been integrated as a major part of the site. No longer delegated to a boring looking forum, Guides are now fully supported articles that can be searched by different Guide Categories. Guides are on a submission queue similar to HUDs, and will need to be accepted by a Moderator before being made public.
Speaking of Moderators New Staff A few prominent members of the community have offered to help the site out with general Moderation.
TF Staff Team! Community Forums? The Community Forums are currently closed and all existing threads on the Forums have been removed. The Forums were not being utilized very well, and most discussion was being held in respective HUD and Hitsound pages.
The removal is not too much of a big deal, and they may return in the future. However, most people will still want to discuss HUD stuff in general, which brings us to Everyone seems to use Discord nowadays, so keeping discussion centralized in an app that everybody already uses is a no brainer.

Huh, funnily enough I just meddled with this around the time you posted this.
You'll need to follow guides that say download GFScape, find your sound files from Game Banana modding website, find their TF2 section and sounds sectionand create folders for your respective sounds. Then put your. They must be. Usually you'll get a file from Game Banana that is already named the sound it will be replacing. End Note. Well, that was fun! I made this guide because I couldn't find any decent ones on the guide section of TF2, so I thought I'd go ahead and make one myself! It took me a few hours to get everything together, but it was fun! Be sure to rate it up if it helped you! As usual, if you want to support my guide-making habits, consider donating a few items to help!
Nothing expensive, mind you. Just some weapon skins or cheap hats will do fine! It's due to the fact that it died after my old computer bit the proverbial dust. It's not deleted, however. I'm currently getting back into it, and it will be alive once again in the not-too-distant future! Other than that, good luck, and happy hunting!
